A local acquaintance has a sporty car with a license plate that literally reads, TEAMWRK. I've seen it dozens of times and only think of one thing, teamwork.
About a week ago, I was talking with the car owner outside and a guy pulled up and said,"Nice plate. That's pretty funny. Team WRECK."
I chuckled at this jab then realized his buddy was serious. What I saw as teamwork, he saw completely different. And that really got me thinking.
What other things in our lives or at work do we take as fact or truth, that could be interpreted differently by someone else? And what--if anything--should we do about this? Of course, this is just a funny license plate example, but looking into the workplace, I know that even the smallest clarification, re-statement or summary of how we see things is bound to be helpful in communicating clearly with others. Especially teams that work together!
